La Madriguera is a free puzzle video game that has you trying to get some cake without moving too much. Developed by Camilo “camiloh488” Hernández, this 3D indie game is a cute physics-based game that offers simple controls but some challenging gameplay ahead.

Similar to (that really) Boils My Piss, La Madriguera only has one level available and is actually pretty short in length. However, the puzzle involved will actually take some time to figure out—and even then, your greatest hurdle will be the in-game physics sometimes working against you. Take note that this game has two versions: English and Spanish.
When there’s a will
“La Madriguera” means “The Burrow” in Spanish and this game features a cozy little burrow, where a smart brown bear lives. He’s quite lazy, however, and even the act of getting up for food is something he tries to avoid doing. Here, you play as him and you must try to fetch his slice of chocolate cake on the table by using your arm and the items around you.
Despite its shortness, this game can be pretty tricky as the placement of the cake ensures that the physics will make it harder to obtain if you’re not careful. Fortunately, you can always reset using the R key. Meanwhile, your mouse is what controls the arm movement and holding onto any object. Since you have limited movement and even limited items to use, you’ll have to keep trying to figure out the solution.
Gameplay-wise, it’s pretty easy—albeit still challenging since you need to use the in-game physics to your advantage. It’s only too bad that there’s just one level available. Plus, the game sometimes displays the other language in the subtitles even though you have one version. The two languages should have just been combined from the start and allowed you to select your preferred one in the settings.
Has potential to be expanded
All in all, La Madriguera is an interesting indie puzzle game. While it has some issues and only offers one level, it’s not easy to complete and actually challenges you to figure out the solution to the puzzle by playing around with the physics. However, the two versions available can be merged into one already since the subtitles tend to bug out and show the original Spanish version.
